The Development Manager is responsible for leading a regional development team, ensuring high productivity, quality, and on-time delivery of software solutions. The role provides technical guidance, oversees multiple projects, and fosters collaboration across departments. The Team Leader participates in Agile ceremonies and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to support business and technology goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES::
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing coaching and guidance to foster professional growth and high performance.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions, offering technical expertise when needed.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are met with quality standards.
- Provide accurate effort estimations and resource planning for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation across the team.
- Monitor productivity metrics, identify delivery risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives) to ensure smooth execution of development cycles.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for seamless integration and delivery of solutions.
- Provide regular project and team status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Encourage innovation and adoption of new technologies to enhance team capabilities and software performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software Development Team Leader or Engineering Manager
Strong technical background with experience in:
Relational and NoSQL databases
RESTful Web Services
Version control systems (Git preferred)
Cloud environments (AWS preferred)
Excellent understanding of software development life cycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Advanced English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor teams in a dynamic environment
- "Hands-on" attitude with a willingness to dive into code when needed
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience integrating AI/ML APIs (e.g., OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar) into enterprise applications
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer) to increase team productivity
- Understanding of AI-driven analytics for productivity metrics or automated quality checks
- Awareness of AI governance, ethics, and security when leveraging AI-based solutions
- Knowledge of LLMs (Large Language Models) and their applications for internal tools, documentation, or customer-facing features
