POSITION: Physical Therapy Assistant (Certified)
DEPARTMENT: Rehabilitation (743)
WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time
Responsible for providing treatment as directed by the staff physical therapist. Clinical setting includes out-patient, in-patient, skilled nursing facilities and home-bound. Adheres to standards of physical therapy practice. And other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred at least 2 years of work experience as a CERTIFIED PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT
Basic computer skills
Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.
Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation and maintenance.
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
High School diploma or equivalent
Current BCLS (CPR) Certification
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous movement throughout the hospital
Continuous standing (up to 7 hours)
Intermittent bending, kneeling, and squatting
Ability to lift up to 30% of your body weight
Ability to read and understand English
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with patients, families and staff in a professional
manner in stressful situations.
Ability to maintain matters of a confidential nature
Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations
