Head of Accounting

The Head of Accounting plays a critical role in safeguarding the financial integrity of AssureSoft, ensuring full compliance with international and local accounting standards, and enabling reliable reporting to support decision-making, operational control, and strategic growth. This role leads the accounting function across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions, and partners closely with Finance, Tax, Treasury, and People Operations.
 
Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead the preparation and review of accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements in accordance with IFRS and/or US GAAP. Ensure month-end and year-end close processes are efficient and auditable.
• Accounting Oversight: Manage the full accounting cycle across multiple entities, including general ledger, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, accruals, and adjustments.
• Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows, ERP usage, and documentation standards to ensure operational excellence and scalability.
• Internal Controls & Risk Management: Design, document, and monitor internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with corporate policies and external regulations.
• Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors; coordinate annual audits and support statutory filings across jurisdictions.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a growing accounting team; promote continuous development, performance standards, and collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Strategic Reporting: Support the CFO and FP&A with insights on accounting impacts of business decisions, legal structure, and cost control initiatives.
• Own end-to-end payroll operations: Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries, taxes, and social security; maintain compliant records; reconcile payroll accounts monthly; and partner with HR/Finance to resolve discrepancies and improve payroll controls and automation.

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP; ability to lead consolidation and multi-entity accounting.
• Proven track record managing audits, tax compliance, and financial closings across international markets.
• Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced Excel and working knowledge of financial reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Professional certification: CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent.
• Experience in outsourcing, tech services, or multinational organizations.
• Familiarity with transfer pricing, withholding taxes, and international tax exposure.
• Strong English proficiency (spoken and written)
