Pharmacy Technician Lead Job Opportunity

This role involves overseeing the day-to-day activities of the infusion pharmacy department, ensuring effective intra- and inter-departmental communication, workload assignment, and proper allocation of pharmacy resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be proficient in pharmaceutical calculations, and have a working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and coordinate departmental activities to ensure efficient workflow and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and train lower-level technicians to maintain high-quality standards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare, compound, package, label, and dispense medication, IV admixtures, and solutions according to established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct inventory management and control, including maintaining accurate stock levels and completing regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure a safe and sterile work environment by adhering to cleaning protocols, infection control policies, and other relevant guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician certification (California State Board of Pharmacy).
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, related pharmaceutical technology, EHR, and EPIC.
